Full-Stack Engineer
We are seeking a full-stack software engineer that will be integrated into a distributed development team in charge of developing a mySQL backend equipped with a node.js API linking to a native Swift-iOS mobile app, and to other web-based applications.
The ideal candidate will have experience with best practices in the field.
The work:
- Development of backend and frontend of mobile apps
- Keep track of software application performance
- Monitor the security of the frontend and backend infrastructure
- Collaborate within a project team to solve complex problems
Requirements:
- Minimum of at least 4 years of experience in mySQL and node.js development
- Minimum 4 years with AWS cloud computing technologies
- Minimum 4 years experience with UI/UX mobile app development technologies
- Minimum 4 years experience in iOS SWIFT and Python programming
- Minimum 4 years experience with iOS platforms
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience working in continuous delivery environment
- Comfortable learning and applying new technologies
- Experience with cybersecurity good practices for programming and infrastructure design
- Experience with Android platforms
- Experience with R Shiny or Python DASH technology

Machine learning programmer
We are looking for an enthusiastic machine learning developer that can easily handle and develop ML pipelines (in particular natural language processing and recommender systems).
The work can be performed remotely and hence the candidate must be able to autonomously perform the assigned task at a professional level. Interaction with UX designer and graphical designer is fundamental to develop a product that shows a wow factor for the users. It is also requested to be able to design software testing units to release robust software and to be aware of the major security programming practices.
The main tasks to be performed are:
- Optimization of a natural language processing pipeline and application to a large cor-pus of text documents over the cloud
- Design and implementation of a recommending system
- Interaction with the software development team that is developing the mobile iOS app
Essential skills:
- previous experience in machine learning, including hands-on experience with Pytorch or Tensorflow/Keras
- 3+ years programming experience in Python
- considerable hands-on experience with ETL and data wrangling in general
- understanding of the principles of reproducible research, including version control sys-tems and environment management systems (e.g. conda)
Preferred skills:
- MSc/PhD in machine learning, data science, bioinformatics or similar
- experience with any of the major cloud computing platforms
- experience with relational databases

Bioinformatics analyst
We are looking for an enthusiastic bioinformatics data analyst with experience in high-throughput (i.e. omics) data analysis.
The work can be performed remotely and hence the candidate must be able to autonomously perform the assigned task at a professional level.
Essential skills:
- experience with statistical analysis of diverse omics datasets to produce clear biological conclusions
- programming expertise in Python and/or R
- experience with parsing data from major biomedical databases
- ability to balance multiple simultaneous tasks, determine priorities, and provide the required deliverables to meet or exceed Vydiant’s needs
Preferred skills:
- MSc/PhD in biomedical data analysis and some domain expertise in molecular biology

Natural Language Programmer/Analyst
We are looking for an analyst to assist in the development of our Biomedical Natural Language Processing pipelines. The position is remote but you'll be joining a team of experienced scientists and analysts.
The main tasks to be performed are:
- Development of pipelines for named entity recognition and normalization in biomedical text
- Assist in extension of pipelines for extraction of structured knowledge from biomedical text
The analyst will also contribute to industry data analytic projects on focused biological questions, therefore a basic understanding of molecular biology would be considered an asset.
Essential skills:
- previous experience (including classwork) in machine learning and NLP
- at least 2 years programming experience in Python
- hands-on experience with ETL and data wrangling in general
- understanding of the principles of reproducible research, including version control systems and environment management systems (e.g. conda)

Mobile app and rest API programmer
We are looking an enthusiastic software developer that can easily handle both iOS/Android mobile programming and restful API development to connect mobile apps to a large, cloud-based, SQL database.
Expertise in DB development and management is a plus. The mobile app is a personalized health assistant connected to a knowledge base constantly updated with scientific results from the literature.
